Crown lifting is the careful removal of the lowest branches of a tree to create clearance underneath — over a lawn, path, driveway, parked cars, or the side of a building.

It sounds simple, but it's easy to get wrong. Take too much off and you unbalance the tree, expose it to disease through oversized wounds, and ruin its proportions. We work to British Standard BS3998, removing only what's needed to achieve the clearance you want while keeping the tree's natural form.
Typical jobs include lifting street-side trees to give clearance for vehicles and pedestrians, opening up sightlines from windows, and bringing more light to the garden directly beneath the canopy. We'll always discuss the finished height with you on site before we start cutting.
